Cold Springs TH to Margurette Lake

Eleven of us headed up DIM to hike to Margurette Lake, despite a smoky forecast. As it turned out the sky was blue and the air clear, so it turned out to be a wonderful hike.

The trail was clear most of the way with a few exceptions. It was in the lower to mid-60’s all day, so perfect weather to be out hiking. We had lunch behind a small hill that shielded us from a slight but cold breeze. The sun felt great on our faces.

After a long lunch break we headed back to the cars, then to Lake of the Woods for refreshments. It was a bit cold on the deck, but we all found a sunny spot to reflect on the days hike, along with many other topics.

Everyone had a good time and it was good to see many familiar faces after the smoky several past weeks of limited hiking.
