Grouse Gap Snowshoe
Mt. Ashland had new snow, so eight of us set out on FS20 from the ski lodge parking lot. We trekked through conifers heavy with snow, and snowflakes gusted around us. At the junction to Grouse Gap, we continued up the road to Rabbit Ears, because there was no broken trail to Grouse Gap. We stopped for a quick, chilly lunch – pleased that our tracks indicated that we had snowshoed farther than anyone else that day. As always it was a pleasure to enjoy the stillness of the snow-covered landscape. Roundtrip ~ 3.1 miles
