Lower Rogue – Grave Creek to Alder Creek
Our adventure down the Rogue River started with clear skies and 58 degree weather, with not a cloud to be seen. We headed off observing many spring wild flowers and enjoying the wonderful views of the Lower Rogue River Canyon.
The trail was in good shape, with only one slippery place by a small waterfall. Lunch was taken on the rocks by the river after hiking almost 5 miles.
Heading back up the trail was fine until the last 2 miles, when it turned hot (86 degrees). After this challenging hike, we rehydrated at a local watering hole in Merlin, before heading home.
