Applegate Lake
We started the day driving in the rain to the trail head. At 48 degrees, we were all a little worried, but when we arrived at the TH, the rain quit (yea!).
The forest was very green and the Applegate Reservoir very full. We headed up the hill on our loop trail, seeing a few flowers and then the sun came out. The reservoir is so full that part of our normal trail was under water, so we had to take another route.
Lunch was taken at “Hal’s Point” in full sun and no wind. The views of reflected trees, clouds and sky were incredible. The poison oak and vine leaf maples were very happy today, both growing as fast as their chlorophyll could make them.
We ended the day at 55 degrees and refreshments were taken at Boomtown.
