Cathedral Hills – Ashland Hiking Group

Another perfect day for hiking. We hiked the circumference of Cathedral Hills, with lots of ups and downs. This time I added the Skycrest loop to the hike and it turned out to be a good idea, adding a mile and taking us through manzanita groves, huge amounts of Indian Warriors and some early Hound’s Tongues. All in all we did about 7 miles and 1,200 feet of ascent. Towards the end we did Hogsback which is very steep.

After the hike most of us visited South Stage Cellars in Jacksonville to enjoy some wine and cheese in their garden. We also stopped off at Pennington Farms to stock up on goodies.
