Crater Lake – West Rim

Beautiful, clear sunny day with a high in the high 70s.

Our original plan was to climb Crater Peak but the East Rim Drive was still closed by snow. So we decided to hike along the rim from the Lodge to Watchman. Lots of snow along the route and the trail to Watchman was closed due to snow cover. So we had lunch sitting on the wall at the western Watchman TH before heading back and avoiding the more treacherous parts of the rim trail.

Stopped at the Annie Creek Restaurant for refreshments after the hike. Frys were OK but the onion rings were quite doughy.
