Applegate Lake
Twelve of us headed out to Applegate Lake under the threat of rain. It was in the high 30’s and overcast, but the weather gods were being kind to us. The trail was in good shape and not muddy. The views through the forest were of clouds wafting through the valleys beyond. Applegate Lake was very low, getting ready for the spring runoff.
The group made it to Hal’s Point for lunch and as we started packing up to head home, a few rain drops were felt. We did manage to get to the cars and heading home before it actually rained and we all were grateful. We were all grateful to be out hiking today.
Many of us stopped at Boomtown for refreshments, then home early. This turned out to be a good hike, despite the ominous weather forecast.
