Squaw Creek to Beartrap Creek
Another nice day for a walk in the woods with plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the 60s.
We did an out and back, heading south on the Cabin Creek / Squaw Creek trail to its intersection with Beartrap Creek and then went up the road a bit to have lunch on the Beartrap Creek Bridge. Plenty of poison oak on the most southern couple of miles of trail, but it was mostly avoidable.
After lunch we enjoyed cooling breezes as we made our way back uphill to the TH.
We stopped at Floyd’s Frosty in McCloud on our way home but were only partly satisfied. After giving our drinks and food orders there was a power outage so we only got our beverages of choice. We had to make do with packaged junk food from the quick mart next door for the ride home.
