Kelsey Creek to Maple Falls
Very nice hike today. Weather was clear and around 70 degrees. We had two pieces of inedible gluten free bread with peanut butter and honey fall into the creek at lunch. They swirled around in the eddy above the falls for about 20 minutes to no effect.
The forest fire last year did a lot of damage. As we were walking you could still smell smoke in some areas. Still a very pretty drive along the Scott River and a great hike.
Gary was the star today!! He took us to the Siskiyou Roadhouse in Yreka. We got there right at 4:00 when they opened. They had great onion rings ($4.50 on happy hour pricing!) good french fries and a decent beer selection. So everyone left there with a smile on their face.
