Highway 99 to the Pilot Rock TH

Seventeen of us enjoyed the trek from Highway 99 at the base of the Mt. Ashland SkiRoad to the Pilot Rock trailhead. We covered 5 miles roundtrip with an elevation gain of 900′. Temperatures and air were ideal for a sunny morning hike and leisurely ‘brunchtime’ at the Pilot Rock TH. The journey featured lovely meadows of golden grass and forests diverse in deciduous varieties.
