Siskiyou Peak
Seven of us did a nice hike on Mount Ashland to escape the heat. We started from the intersection of the forest road with the PCT for an 8.5 mile hike return. We started off at 72 degrees and it stayed pretty constant on the way up, with a nice breeze kicking in. We didn’t stay long on top because of annoying flies. That seems to always be the case these days. We had some nice breeses on the way down.
We had all forgotten the last 1/2 mile of ascent but slogged our way up. It ended with 8.7 miles return and 1,200 feet of ascent.
This hike was organised on Francie’s day off and we finished with a wine and cheese at Kerr Manor. Francie had brought some nice Paso Robles wines and I baked some fresh baguettes. A great hike and some great socializing with old friends.
