Greensprings Summit to Hobart Bluff
Once again we escaped the heat and did some climbing. It worked out with the objective at almost 6000 feet. It always surprises to leave the dry Rogue Valley and find yourself a half hour later in lush vegetation. We took our time on the way up and were surprised not to meet any PCT hikers other than two, whose lack of tan gave them away, who started at the California border.
We enjoyed hearing about Francie’s recent adventure climbing Mount Whitney. In my next life I may attempt it.
We were finally rewarded with a fresh breeze on the bluff and the views were outstanding as always. We were partially sheltered from the heat by the old growth forest on the way down and then climbed the annoyingly long hill near the end, where we were a tad warm.
After some cool water we returned to Kerr Manor where a few of us enjoyed Caldera’s best.
