Boccard Point
On a very overcast morning ten intrepid hikers dared to venture out with the newbie hike leader, yours truly, to Boccard Point. Fairly quickly the fog began to lift and in time we were rewarded with magnificent views of distant valleys and cloud-capped mountains.
With Dan and Bob assisting (Thanks D&B) we explored a bushwhack shortcut from the PCT down to the Boccard Trail and an even more gentle bushwhack on the return back up to the PCT. Though not the goal, in all we cut roughly two miles off of the original hike.
Throughout we were treated to beautiful autumn colors, wild mushrooms, the occasional raptor and a very nice selection of scat. All in all, a great day.
I managed not to lose a single hiker though I did make the amateur mistake of forgetting to bring chocolate.
