East Applegate Ridge
Four of us decided to brave the snow and hike on the East Applegate Ridge Trail. We started at the bottom from the Highway 238 TH in light snowfall. As we continued on up we could see the wildflowers in the snow.
The views of the mountains were blocked by low clouds. We eventually made our way to the trailhead on Sterling Creek Road and had our lunch. Bob and Leslie braved the snow and ate at the picnic table while Nanci and I took cover under the information board.
The snow really started coming down so we decided on a half of a “Hank” lunch. It kept snowing for around 9 miles of the hike. Then we had a rain/snow mix. The last mile was free of precipitation.
We had good timing because shortly after we were in the car and on the road, the rain really started to come down.
