Pederson Nordic Trail
Four of us headed up DIM to go snowshoeing along the Pederson Trail. The weather was perfect with 20 to 30 degree weather, a clear sky and no wind. There was about 6 to 8 inches of new snow on the ground.
For the first third of the hike we followed a cross country skier’s trail. We decided to skip the normal lunch spot in the shelter and kept going straight, which ended on a snow covered road (not used in the winter). From this point we were breaking trail, but it was easy for another mile or so.
Then we decided to bushwhack through the forest for a good place to have lunch. After much talk and rest, we then bushwhacked through the rest of the forest back to the cars.
It was a wonderful day to be outside snowshoeing. Our mental attitudes were clearly adjusted upwards.
