Frank Hill Road
Today, we decided to stay closer to home for our snowshoe. Seven of us started off in our boots and walked up Frank Hill Road. Soon there was enough snow that we put on our snowshoes. We were in fog to begin with so we took the time to appreciate the views that were right next to the road. The farther up the hill we went, it started to clear and we could start seeing amazing views of the valley.
Leslie discovered some springtails also known as snow fleas. Roxy Ann and the vineyards below looked beautiful all covered in snow. We could see where the Almeda fire went down the Greenway and wondered why the snow did not stick to the trees that had been burned.
We came up to a streamline trailer that was set up with a generator running and all hooked up to an electrical system. We were surprised it was up that far in the snow. We then came to a flat spot and were able to see views all around Talent.
We continued up to a nice spot and had our lunch. On the way down, we took a different road and cut off part of the distance. After arriving back at Liz’s house, she invited us in for some hot cider and snacks.
