Crater Lake
Tracy summed it up when I thanked Bob for driving and she said “Thank you for the best hike of the year.”
The weather was perfect and the snow wasn’t bad at all. We were hiking in sweat shirts at 40 degrees. Unfortunately a lot of snowshoers were away but we had 11 enthusiasts basking in the sun. The color of the water was remarkable and the trees were covered with snow.
Our habitual lunch place was drop dead gorgeous although we had to put our jackets back on because of the usual wind off the rim.
After the hike, 9 of us celebrated at Beckys, which had a short but decent draft beer selection, some interesting non-alcohol drinks and the usual wonderful pies. The pictures say it all.
