Taylor Creek
The weather stayed dry for us and we had an excellent hike from the Lone Pine TH all the way to the bottom. We used a shuttle to make it a one way hike.
The trail was in excellent condition but with the rain we had to improvise a bit to cross the various small streams. A number of techniques were used, notably one employed by Carol where she went one way then leapt across to the other side, bouncing off a bank and rebounding to a dry place. Quite spectacular. Unfortunately she landed with her feet apart and that is the last thing the judges see.
We had left Ashland a bit early and gained our usual lunch spot at exactly noon after a 4 mile trek. This avoided the spectacle of rumbling stomachs and muttered grumbling.
The last leg is always a good finish with a steep hill to climb to the shuttle car.
We capped it off with a fine session of beer and fries at Baldinis. It was our lucky day because the cook had made too many fries and the server refilled our two huge orders. How good is that?
