Lost Creek Lake
We had ten hikers join together to hike along the Rogue River Trail by Lost Creek Lake. The sky was grey with clouds and the temperature was a chilly 31 degrees. We moved along at a good pace so we could get warmed up.
As we moved along, we saw lots and lots of bear scat filled with berries. The manzanita berries seem to be the snack of choice. At one point, Barry and Leslie spotted 2 bald eagles in a tree. Not wanting them to fly away, I zoomed my phone camera to see if I could get a good shot. Eventually they took off and flew to another tree.
When we got to our lunch spot at the bench, we were ready to eat. Leslie shared some chocolate with everyone. After lunch, we headed back to our cars. The hike was 9.68 miles with almost 1,100 feet of gain.
After the hike, several of us stopped at Phil’s Frosty for hot chocolate and ice cream.
