East Applegate Ridge
We made a last minute change in the hike, originally scheduled for Wolf Gap. I had taken my grandson to East Applegate Ridge the day before and it was spectacular in the warm sun.
Every visit to the ridge takes you a bit by surprise as you gradually remember the views.
We hiked over the ridge and down the other side, turning around before it drops down to Highway 238. We found some ideal logs to sit on in the sun for lunch. We were the first there in the morning but it was busy coming the other way on the way back, with 10 cars in the parking lot.
We needed a few wardrobe adjustments on the way as we started out in the 30’s and ended near 60 degrees. The trail was in ideal condition, with no mud.
A great day and we all went to Boomtown for refreshments on the way home. The fryer was working.
