Lost Creek Lake – West and North Shore
The rain held off and we had a nice day to do a 9 mile hike with roughly 1000 feet of ascent. The trail was in good condition and we zipped right along. A notice at the official TH told us the bridge at the turn to the Grotto was closed but we figured there wouldn’t be any water anyway and we could deal with it.
We found that the bridge had been repaired although it was a bit shakier than usual. Based on zero flow of water, we declined to go up the Grotto and headed back after a lunch taken on a fine log with a view.
We ran into rain approaching home and ducked into the Pumphouse in Talent for refreshments. They made us a very good bowl of fries and we sat by a fire on the terrace.
