Old Howard Prairie Road to the Green Springs Mountain Loop Trail
Darryl, Mary (welcome back!), Sabin and I did see lots of flowers on the PCT from the old Hyatt Prairie road to the Green Springs Mountain loop trail. But Clustered Lady’s Slipperthe big news of the day, as mentioned in an earlier email was the discovery of the Mountain’s lady slipper (Cypripedium montanum). OH. MY. GOODNESS.
Bless the unknown hiker who excitedly shared the news and a picture. We are so lucky to have such an astoundingly rich botanical area like the Cascade Siskiyou National Monument in our own backyard. Flowers with an asterisk are new blooms for the 2020 season. I will try to remember to do this in future.
