Lower Rogue – Grave Creek to Whiskey Creek
We had a good turnout of 10 on a beautiful winter day with sunny skies and temperatures in the high forties. The trail was in good shape as we did the many ups and downs along the river.
We had a relaxing lunch on the beach at Whiskey Creek, then went up the mining cabin across the Creek. We could see where someone had used a hydraulic system to extract gold.
The views were splendid in the sun and we stopped here and there to admire the scenery. There were a number of fisherman along the river in boats and on the shore, and a number of through hikers.
Four of us stopped by Baldini’s in Merlun for refreshments. Everyone loved the hike.
