Castle Crags – Dog Creek to Sabin’s Point
With a cool start to the morning, 10 of us headed up the Dog Trail to the PCT. Before long the sunshine and elevation climb had us donning off our extra layers. We couldn’t have asked for better hiking weather; warm sun and cool fall breezes and our temps topped off in the mid 60s.
The fall foliage and spectacular views of the Crags motivated us up the trail to Sabin’s point for a scenic viewpoint lunch. In an effort to temper our exposure to the chilling breeze, many of us found comfort sitting in the sheltered spots amongst the rocks.
Following our return, the group gathered at the Siskiyou Roadhouse in Yreka for refreshments.
