Kerby Peak
Kerby peak has a reputation for being one of our harder hikes. 9 people decided to take on the task this year. We started up the trail around 9:40a.m. The incline of 2700 feet in a little over 3 miles didn’t seem to bother anyone.
We saw many flowers including pine drops, arnica, prince’s pine and ground cones. The view from the rock out cropping was spectacular. The sky was blue and amazing.
At the top, we enjoyed 360 degree views. Mt. McLoughlin, Greyback, Preston Peak to name a few. Lunch was enjoyable with a nice breeze.
After returning to our cars, we headed to Tap Rock for refreshments. The fries and onion rings were delicious, but I think we caught our wait person on a bad day.
